Flamingo Rampant is producing feminist, racially-diverse, LGBTQ positive children’s books, in an effort to bring visibility and positivity to the reading landscape of children everywhere. We make books kids love that love them right back, bedtime stories for beautiful dreams, and books that make kids of all kinds say with pride: that kid’s just like me!

Akiea “Ki” Gross (they/them) is an abolitionist early educator, coach, consultant and creative entrepreneur currently innovating ways to unlearn, heal, liberate and create with their pedagogy, Woke Kindergarten. In the many years they spent teaching in classrooms, their experiences spanned infancy to 6th grade. Prior to leaving the school system, they served as a Kindergarten Teacher and an Instructional Coach of Inquiry-Based Learning in Harlem.

My Kid Is Gay is a first-of-its-kind digital space dedicated to connecting parents, caregivers, and educators with answers to their questions about the LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual) young people in their lives. They offer advice, personal stories, and expert opinions from a  diverse panel of writers made up of parents, young people, and experts! Their writers (including Lindsay!) tackle a large variety of issues such as gender identity, sexuality, sex education, and religion. OWL offers interactive workshops and lessons to engage participants, while step-by-step instructions for program planners and facilitators help ensure success. Six curricula speak to participants' needs, by age group.
