Our Teddy-Approved Gift Guide for LGBTQ+ and Ally Families!

Welcome to Queer Kid Stuff’s Teddy-approved Gift Guide where we celebrate fantastic products for families and small LGBTQ+ owned businesses! By choosing gifts from these entrepreneurs, you're not just making a purchase; you're making a meaningful statement of support and empowerment. Small LGBTQ+ businesses often face unique challenges, and your patronage contributes directly to their success.

As you explore our curated list of apparel, books, and fun things remember that each purchase is a vote for equality. This holiday season and beyond, let's not just exchange gifts but create a community that uplifts and embraces diversity.

Bookmark this guide for birthdays, baby showers, and celebrations throughout the year—because supporting LGBTQ+ businesses is a gift that keeps giving.

Oh! And this gift guide is not sponsored! We earn revenue from our own products and get a small kickback on our Bookshop.org affiliate links for books, but none of these companies have paid us to advertise their products here. These are just things we found that we genuinely love and wanted to share with you!

To Wear!

Our spread queer joy beanie let’s you parade the QKS mission statement while also keeping your ears warm in the winter. Win! Win!

We just discovered the incredible PoppySummit etsy store owned by wives Bonnie and Michelle! We’re obsessed with their robust kid and baby sections. Their pride merch, like this rainbow butterfly tee, is super cute but they also have regular kid-themed apparel like these dinosaur and truck shirts!

New socks are a stocking-stuffing staple, and these purposefully mismatched socks from LGBTQ+ owned company PALS had us pulling out our wallets to get socks for everyone we know. Don’t worry, they have socks for kids, babies, AND grown ups ;)

To Read!

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention our books! You can read QKS founder Lindz Amer’s acclaimed parenting book Rainbow Parenting: Your Guide to Raising Queer Kids and Their Allies and pre-order their upcoming debut picture book Hooray for She, He, Ze, and They: What Are Your Pronouns Today? They are truly perfect companions! And isn’t it cool that you can get one book for now and another one for later?! A gift for you and a gift for future you!

While you’re over on Bookshop.org—our favorite place to buy books online—you can check out the Queer Kid Stuff bookshelf! We have curated lists of some of our favorites, including all the books we’ve featured in our Rainbow Storytime videos, and books for grown ups!

And if you’re looking to stock your bookshelves all year long with awesome curated social justice reads, we highly recommend grabbing a subscription to Shift Box Books, another wonderful LGBTQ+ owned small business!

For Fun!

Look no further for the most awesome room decor you’ll ever see! Amina Mucciolo is “Black, queer, autistic, and proud!” and creates beautiful vibrant artwork. She is currently running a pre-sale on her Tasselfairy Garlands that will immediately make your kiddos’ room the envy of your entire household. She also has prints, hoodies, totes, stickers, and other cool stuff in her shop a rainbow in your cloud.

Okay, so this is the one exception to our LGBTQ+ owned rule because we can’t verify how the creator of this product identifies, but we want to highlight it anyways! Tarot for Kids is a fantastic tarot deck created by The Tarot Lady with kid-friendly illustrations and an accompanying booklet that explains each card in a way that makes sense for young folks just starting their tarot journey. We love this deck that makes tarot appropriate and accessible for kids!

Last but certainly not least, we’re highlighting the UK-based etsy store Little Pickle Memories and their unique memory books for all types of families! Their first year baby book journal and adoption milestone cards look especially cool!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Whether you're celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, a birthday, a baby shower, or any occasion throughout the year, the gifts you choose carry the power of impact. Each purchase from these incredible LGBTQ+ businesses not only brings smiles but also amplifies voices, nurtures dreams, and fosters a more inclusive world. So, as you wrap your gifts with love, know that you're also wrapping support around small LGBTQ+ business owners—making every moment of celebration even more meaningful.
