FAQs

  • It's crucial to start conversations about diversity, including sexuality and gender, from a young age. The American Academy of Pediatrics has found that most children have a solid understanding of their gender identity by the age of 4. By introducing concepts like LGBTQ+ identities in an age-appropriate way, we promote inclusivity, empathy, and respect from the very beginning.

  • Explaining sexuality and gender doesn't have to involve discussions about sex. Instead, we focus on teaching children about the rich diversity of human experiences, feelings, and identities. Just like we teach them about different cultures and family structures, we can introduce the idea that people have varied ways of expressing themselves and experiencing the world.

  • Understanding and respecting LGBTQ+ identities isn't just for LGBTQ+ individuals; it's essential for everyone. By learning about diverse identities, children develop empathy, kindness, and acceptance. Additionally, teaching children about LGBTQ+ topics helps create safer and more supportive environments for those who do identify as LGBTQ+ and their families.

  • Absolutely! Loving and supporting your LGBTQ+ child is incredibly important, and part of that support involves educating ourselves and our children about LGBTQ+ identities. Even if you're already affirming of your child's identity, learning more about LGBTQ+ topics can deepen your understanding and strengthen your support.

  • Not at all. Our content focuses on celebrating diversity and promoting understanding, not on sexualizing children. We approach topics in a way that's developmentally appropriate and respectful of children's curiosity.

  • We're not trying to "turn" anyone gay or trans. LGBTQ+ identities are not something that can be influenced or changed by external factors. Our goal is to foster a world where everyone feels accepted and loved for who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • Being queer, gay, or trans is not a choice or a disease. These identities are simply a part of who someone is, just like being straight or cisgender. It's important to debunk harmful myths and stereotypes and instead embrace the diversity of human experiences and identities.

  • Not at all. Our aim is not to "brainwash" children but to provide accurate information and promote understanding and acceptance of diversity. We believe in empowering children with knowledge and compassion so they can grow into respectful, empathetic individuals who appreciate the richness of human diversity.
